Trachycarpus Fortunei
Common name: Chusan Palm, Windmill Palm
The Trachycarpus is hardy for most of the UK and has beautiful fan shaped fronds that gives it name the Windmill Palm, can withstand winds but prefers sheltered position sun or shady. make sure you plant in well drained soil and your Trachy will give you a life time of exotic and tropical appearance.

When your Palm Tree is delivered, remove and discard any old winter Fronds at the top which are from wind damage and fresh new growth will start to grow from July-August depending on how well tree has been taken care of.

Soil: Most soil types
Watering: don’t over water, once or twice a week is fine and hardly in winter.
Potting: John Innes no. 3. Mix some agricultural grit.
Fertiliser: Osmocote slow release.
